Traders of souvenirs in Egypt will be punished for importunity

The sellers of souvenirs, which are intrusive to tourists in Egypt, will be fined for excessive importunity – the relevant law was adopted by the government a few days ago.

According to the document, pristavuchye traders will pay for the persecution of Egypt’s guests near the sights and archaeological sites and the imposition of their goods from 3 to 10 thousand Egyptian pounds (150-500 euros).
In addition, the Egyptian authorities tightened the punishment for illegal excavations, the theft of antiquities and trafficking in them – violators face imprisonment up to life imprisonment.
