Zagreb opened the shortest funicular in the world

In Zagreb, after renovation reopened the funicular that connects the popular tourist destination mall Strossmayer (Strossmayerovo šetalište) to the main street of the Croatian capital – Ilica. The road of 66 meters in length connects the two main parts of Zagreb – the Upper and Lower Town.

It is believed that this is the shortest funicular in the world. He started work in 1893 and has preserved its original appearance to the present day. Now funicular is a cultural monument. Two cabins each with a capacity of 28 passengers (16 seats and 12 people can stand) in just 55 seconds, delivering people to the place.

Funicular operates daily from 6:30 to 23:00. Departure time – every 10 minutes. The cost of one trip – 4 kunas (about 0.5 euros).
