Madrid authorities allowed to conduct guided tours to the burial site of the great Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes (1547-1616), the real tomb which was discovered only in the last year.

Excursions to the grave, which is located in the crypt of the church of the monastery of St. Ildefonso Trinitarias, will be held every Friday and Saturday until the end of the year. That year Spain celebrated the 400th anniversary of Cervantes’ death.

At the same time the crypt where is buried the great Spaniard, will visit no more than 25 people, so you must pre-register for the excursion to the tourist information center, located on the Plaza Mayor. Tours in English will start at 16:00 on Friday and 11:00 on Saturdays.

My travel story: "The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.”
